General Job Summary:

Iowa Lakes seeks a motivated, energetic, active-learner-centered full-time instructor to teach a variety of Social Science courses, specifically, within the sociology and psychology areas. Teaching assignments may be during day/evening/weekends, hybrid, online, and/or the TV system, or at multiple campus locations. Instructors will advise, engage with students, teach, evaluate, and report student performance and progress in assigned courses in accordance with college and division policies and procedures. May be required to travel between campuses utilizing personal vehicle. Must have valid driver’s license, good driving record, and provide proof of insurance.


Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.


Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Sociology or Psychology or a Master’s Degree with 12 graduate credits in Sociology and/or Psychology is required. Preference given to persons who also have graduate credits in both Sociology and Psychology enabling them to teach courses in both disciplines. Candidate will provide evidence of a strong body of creative interactive ability to share knowledge effectively to a diverse student body. Prior teaching experience, professional experience, and experience working with LMS (Canvas) is preferred.


Salary:  Commensurate with education and related experience for a 169-day contract.
