General Job Summary:

This is a part-time position, (27.5 hours per week), scheduled primarily for afternoon/evening shift, located on the Spencer Campus. Primary responsibilities include planning, preparing, and serving main-course meals for students, staff, and special events, with occasional weekend shifts. Work is performed in a commercial kitchen. This position requires strong attention to food quality, sanitation, and safety standards, as well as a strong commitment to customer service and positive interaction with students and staff. The employee is expected to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced food service environment while maintaining consistency, professionalism, and efficiency. This is an “essential” personnel position and may require the employee to work during college closures. May be required to travel using a personal vehicle. Must have valid driver’s license, good driving record, and provide proof of insurance.


Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalency required. Quantity cooking experience preferred. ServSafe Manager Certification preferred, additional training provided as needed.


Salary:  $16.61 per hour plus $.35/hour differential after 5:00 p.m.
