he Dickinson County Nature Center invites children ages 2-5 years old and a chaperone to register for Nature Tots: Running Animals on Wednesday, February 11th. There are two identical sessions at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., offered at no cost. The session will start off with a group activity, passing around toy animals that are either fast or slow. The group will learn about several speedy Iowa animals and whether they hop, fly, run, or swim. Activity stations will be set up to imprint tracks in playdough, make Valentine’s Day cards, complete a Cheetah Letter Match, play a game of Animal Actions, and build a habitat with provided materials. There is availability for the 1:30 p.m. session (morning session is full). Registration opens 8 weeks ahead of each event.
