View these beautiful wooden boats on the docks at Arnolds Park Amusement Park throughout the day. They will depart the docks and cruise the lake at approximately 3 pm. (Arnolds Park)-The Classic Boat Show will be held on Saturday, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details: The Jerry Dyhrkopp Iowa Great Lakes Chapter of the Antique & Classic Boat Society will hold their annual Classic Boat Show on Saturday. President Alex Kent says the show will be on the docks in front of the roller coaster at Arnolds Park Amusement Park. “It will be in The Park, open to the public 10 to 3. We welcome boats as early as they want to come. We’re usually there setting up and getting ready around 6 am, and then after the show itself at 3:30, we’ll try to gather everyone up and do our famous cruise between East and West Lake.” He adds that the bridge between East and West Okoboji will be closed temporarily during the boat parade. “We kind of cruise the shoreline along The Park towards the bridges over there, going into East Lake and The DNR always helps us to facilitate shutting down the bridges for a moment. So, if anyone is in or around the bridges at 3:30, just keep in mind they may be getting shut down for a little bit. It’s always kind of a fun time and there’s plenty of boats sitting there watching us and people kind of line the bridges as well. So, if you’re not in a boat, and you’re looking for a place to watch us, definitely the bike trail bridge or even the Highway 71 bridge on the sidewalks are kind of good places to watch us come through.”
