SUMMARY:Summer W.I.N.D (Women in Nature Day)
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Women in Nature Day (W.I.N.D.)! This is an evening of spending time with like-minded outdoor women while learning from a collaboration of local organizations! Enjoy a fun social followed by nature inspired sessions of your choice! All participants must be 16 years old or older. Those under 18 must have an adult participant with them. \n\nMeet at the Maser Monarch Lodge\, across from the Dickinson County Nature Center. From there\, we will split into our session groups after the evening social.\n\nCost is $20 and includes snacks and a hat. \n\n \n\nSchedule:\n\n6-6:30 PM- Welcome and Social\n\n6:30-7:15 PM- Session 1 (Choose 1 of the following)\n\nOption 1: Air Rifles\nInterested in trying target shooting? This session introduces the basics of air rifle safety\, handling\, and shooting technique. With guidance from trained instructors\, you’ll have the chance to practice in a safe and supportive environment.\nOption 2: DIY Mason Bee Homes\nGet creative while helping native pollinators! In this hands-on craft session\, you’ll build a mason bee house to take home. Learn about these important pollinators and how providing nesting habitat can help support them in your yard or garden.\n7:15-7:30 PM- Break\n\n7:30-8:15 PM- Session 2 (Choose 1 of the following)\n\nOption 1: Archery\nTry your hand at archery! Instructors will guide you through proper stance\, aiming and safe shooting techniques while you practice hitting the target.\nOption 2: Wild Edibles\nTake a walk and learn about edible plants growing in our natural areas! We’ll cover how to safely identify a few common wild edibles\, their traditional uses and tips for responsible foraging. Participants will prepare and sample some of the plants they collect.\n8:15- 8:30 PM- Group Photo and Goodbyes
