DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION OPENS SEPTEMBER 11TH\nWelcome to Women in Nature Day (W.I.N.D.)! This is an evening of spending time with like-minded outdoor women while learning from a collaboration of local organizations! Enjoy a fun social followed by nature inspired sessions of your choice! All participants must be 16 years old or older. Those under 18 must have an adult participant with them.\nMeet at the Horseshoe Bend Warming House. From there\, we will split into our session groups after the evening social.\nCost is $20 and includes snacks and a tote.\nRegistration Link: https://dickinsoncountyconservationboard.com/event.../...\nSchedule:\n6-6:30 PM- Welcome and Social\n6:30-7:15 PM- Session 1 (Choose 1 of the following)\nOption 1: Owl Prowl\nExplore the forest after dark on a guided nighttime hike as you search for owls in their natural habitat. Learn about their unique adaptations\, listen for their calls\, and try calling them in for a chance to experience these elusive birds up close.\nOption 2: Fire & Feast: Outdoor Cooking Basics\nOutdoor Cooking Basics Discover the fundamentals of outdoor cooking while building confidence and practical skills for time spent outdoors. This session explores a variety of camp cooking methods\, fire management techniques\, and meal preparation options used in recreational settings. Participants will gain knowledge of safe\, efficient\, and adaptable ways to prepare food over a fire\, making outdoor adventures more enjoyable and self-sufficient\n7:15-7:30 PM- Break\n7:30-8:15 PM- Session 2 (Choose 1 of the following)\nOption 1: Secrets of Iowa's Owls\nStep into the fascinating world of owls and discover the remarkable adaptations that make these mysterious birds such skilled nighttime hunters. Get hands-on with real owl specimens\, examine the unique features that give owls their incredible senses\, and uncover the secrets hidden inside an owl pellet through your own guided dissection.\nOption 2: Camping Basics\nBuild the skills and confidence needed to enjoy the outdoors through this introduction to camping. Participants will explore the basics of camping preparation\, equipment\, campsite selection\, and outdoor safety while learning practical tips for creating positive outdoor experiences.\n8:15- 8:30 PM- Group Photo and Goodbyes
